Atypical Depression

This type of depression is very common in women. The feeling of depression will get better for a period and worsen again. The symptoms of oversleeping, overeating, hypersensitivity to rejection (especially romantic rejection), and intermittent panic attacks, are characteristic of atypical depression. This type of depression usually begins in adolescence and, if untreated, will often continue throughout life.

Sufferers of depression with atypical features will respond to negative or positive external events. They'll feel deeply depressed or somewhat hopeful depending on the latest situation they are faced with. Their mood will brighten considerably when dining out with friends or enjoying a good movie. But when they are alone, their mood will slip back into the dark depths of depression.

This type of depression usually follows an interpersonal rejection by a lover, boss, or close friend. People with atypical depression tend to overeat and oversleep, whereas people with melancholia often are characterized by weight loss and insomnia.

People with atypical depression feel paralyzed or too tired to get out of bed.Chocolate is particularly important as a comfort food.

Symptoms (in addition to typical symptoms of depression, the patient should have 2 out of 4)

* Increased appetite with weight gain of 10 lbs or more when depressed
* Hypersomnia (excessive sleep) of 10 hours or more per day or 2 hours more sleep than the usual amount of sleep when not depressed
* Heavy, leaden feelings in arms and legs
* Longstanding pattern of interpersonal rejection sensitivity, not limited to episodes of depression, that results in significant social or occupational impairment

first of all, gudlaks on your finals...

i declared my own holiday for the last 5 days... now,i'm left with 4 days 5 nights to catch up and study Miss OChem Have-to-Memorize-Alot. :)

really happy to know that I got the grades that i targeted earlier this semester for fluids, meebal, Quantitative Analysis. PD 2 grades is still pending, i guess. And I'm left with Miss Ochem Have-to-Memorize-Alot.

My mission tonite is to go over Chapter 1 and 2, and do all the exercise at the of each chapters. :) No more tido2 add..

Haa.. lagi... I changed my room arrangements last nite... bising2 alih furniture..mlm2 buta... *sorry Mazo* And I really like it... the bed *looks* cozylicious and I have the study table right beside my bed.... i can either use the chair... or sit on bed . suits me alot... since i have a huge chemistry wit my cozylicious bed.. pay me a visit... i'll let u sleep in my cozy-la-konon bed for 5 mins.. only ;)

i survived this 18-cr-semester \o/
will be taking 16-cr only nx semester...but i think it actually worths 21 cr..
I'll be seeing Mrs. Xchem LotsaLabsnReports, Mr Geochem NolastNameyet, Mr HeatnMassTransfer NolastnameYet and Miss CPDC LotsaWorks. Also Miss Nusantara FunButLotsaWorkToo. It's going to be a fun fun fun semester.. sometimes it's good to be busy... it occupies your mind... at least with beneficial stuffs...

just got back from anupa's place.. misha threw her "inteligentia :P" party.. after she got a 98 of the previous fluids test... good for us.. we had free shalimar goody food to stuff in our tummies... :)

made a caramel pudding for them..*trying to be nice ok*
know what... the pudding didn't turn out to be as good as usual :( haha... i was rushing to make it...and forgot to put condensed milk in the batter.. haiyohh...tapi diorg mkn jee.. haha.. tawar la sket...tp still rase pudding... kesian diorg...terpakse letak sugar sndiri on top... hihi

rite now hanging out at the union ..trynna do some work... but i end up typing a new entry for my blog *grin*

i have 3 quizzes coming up next week... and 2 extra credit assignment due...
got lucky this year... i only hv one final on 12/19 - Ochem 3-6pm ! starting today till 12/19 i have to really pulun laa... aiyo.. can't wait to end this semester...
